More Plugins?
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:19:55 am »
Looking at getting some other plugins on the server.

[MISC] CommandHelper [3.1.0] - Running
[ADMIN/SEC] VanishNoPickup v1.9.9 - Running
[MECH] CraftBook [3.0-alpha2] or [MECH] FalseBook 0.86.1
[ADMN] Backup 1.6 - No longer required.

Possibly [RPG-MECH] mcMMO v1.0.22

Thoughts on these?

If there are any others you would like to see post the links here and I shall have a look at them.

MCMMO I reckon, purely for the hell of it though. If it has any effect on performance I say drop it like it's hot.

Might have a look at [EDIT/MISC/TP/FUN] MultiVerse later on once the server has gone public, this is further down the track though. Possibly sooner. Different rules of different worlds and such.

I'll put mcMMO and / or FalseBook on the test server during the week and see how things go there.

Will be having a look at using [ADMN/WEB] Bulletin Board Bridge v2.3.0 on the test server and will see if I can get it running properly. If I can and I like what it offers I may consider using it for the proper server further down the track.

[MECH] FalseBook 0.87 DEV and [RPG-MECH] mcMMO v1.0.34 are up an running on the test server.

Note mcMMO suggests against using Permissions 3.1.6 as it may cause lag and such.

Do not use Permissions 3.1.6 with this plugin or you will get extreme CPU spikes and read timed out errors! (3.1.5 is fine however)
The test server is running Permissions 3.1.6 I may roll back permissions tomorrow for further testing.
Might also have a tinker with [ADMN/WEB] Bulletin Board Bridge v2.3.0 and [EDIT/MISC/TP/FUN] MultiVerse.

[ADMN/WEB] Bulletin Board Bridge:
Awesome, if it works with no conflicts/lag/other issues, but I'd say there would be some annoyance installing this plugin. Eg: What happens if the forum is down while the server remains up? Or vice versa? Does any special software need to be installed on the forums? Is the time/effort:reward ratio worth it, or is manually updating and maintaining permissions still easier? If 1 person is given special permissions will this overwrite the plugin? Will the previous action crash the server/plugin? Lots of variables, testing will be... interesting if this gets installed.

[MECH] FalseBook 0.87 DEV:
All for it.

[RPG-MECH] mcMMO v1.0.34:
All for it, except if it causes conflicts that break things.

[EDIT/MISC/TP/FUN] MultiVerse:
Awesome idea, it's a bit survival-y but if you can live with that I'd love to see this implemented.

Next response prediction: tl;dr

McMMO - survival. Personally I dont think this is the best mod for your server, sure its a fun thing and such but since we wont be mining for any resources, or at least not me, this seems a bit pointless. Its a great mod, and if you want to add it go ahead, just dont think it gives that much to the server.

Falsebook - creative. This is a great mod, or at least I think so. It gives you all these new ways to do stuff in your structures, gives you new ways to conquer the battlefield of extreme castle building.

This is my opinions from my view on the server as a pure creative server - but its still your call Depth!

Check out this plugin, I thought it was neat:

As to the addition of falsebook, I would like to see all solid blocks added to the bridge and gate lists. I think only cobble and wood is on there by default.

The test server is down for now I'll put it back up if I get a request for it.

Default bridge blocks:
AllowedBridgeBlocks=1,2,3,4,5,17,20,24,35,43,44,48,49
AllowedDoorBlocks=1,2,3,4,5,17,20,24,35,43,44,48,49
